The Idabel Public Works Authority completed construction of two new half million gallon per tank, water towers. Tower One is located on the North West side of town and Tower Two is located on the East side of town. Construction on these new water towers started in the fall of 2018, Tower Two construction was completed August of 2019 and put into operation. Two One was completed January of 2020 and put into operation. The new water towers now put Idabel in a position to not only provide a quality source of water, but Idabel customers should notice a more consistent pressure. The new water towers have a single fill line and a separate discharge line from the water towers, this provides a true mixing system within the water tower to always keep the water in the towers as fresh as possible. The new water towers also have a 24/7 SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system to allow the Treatment Facility monitoring capability. Monitoring capabilities are 24/7 Chlorine detection and control of all valves in the pipe gallery.
